Out of the Ordinary has been serving New Albany for 18 years. Leslie and her husband Gwynne (Bud) opened their doors in 1992 in the back of the original New Albany barber shop. Out of the Ordinary operated in 350 square feet and was open evenings only. Leslie and Bud moved to Village Center on Rt. 62 in 1997. They again relocated in 2002 to the New Albany Kroger Shopping Center.

Initially Out of the Ordinary carried only American hand-made artwork. Now Out of the Ordinary still works with many of the same original American artists along with unique gift brands.
